Last Day

How cold is it.....freezing

rain 7 °C

The plan was good, up at 7am for a walk around the MCG and back. About 7km, it was raining and after 1.5km we weren't warming up so headed back. Hands were iced, rain was freezing and the traffic horrid. Having to stop at the traffic lights didn't help the circulation from warming up. Back to the Hyatt gym for a 30 minute work out instead.

Our quick walk..

A leisurely breakfast (healthy too) and then to the club to catch up on some emails. Our driver arrived on time for our airport transfer and whilst the traffic was heavy and the weather still freezing we made it with time to spare. Doing this blog in the Q club having passed through security without the need for a cavity search.

Second Day - National Water Commission Meeting - Dam.....

The reason for the visit

Had the most restful of nights. The beds here in the Hyatt are certainly the most comfortable that we've experienced. Alarm went off at 6am and then turned over until 8.....

Had a nice breakfast downstairs and then a half hour walk to the Oaks for the National Water Commission meeting (the purpose of the visit). Mandy spent the morning shopping and picked up a nice set of swimmers. Nothing for me regrettably. (She only looked all day long for my Tommy Hilfiger shirt, or Ralph Lauren shirt)

Finished my meeting by 4.30 and then to the gym. Treadmill, spa and a swim later and it was off to the Hyatt Lounge for pre dinner drinks. What a great way to spend an evening - isn't life grand!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dinner tonight will be in the room. Had an update via Skype with the nanstar, ellie and heath. Showed them the MCG via Skype......big deal.

Tomorrow our final day. A leisurely day, up at 6am for a walk, gym for 30 minutes, swim then breakfast. The limo to the airport arrives at 11am so its a pretty laid back day. Back to NowrVegus for dinner thanks Ellie, your offer to cook is gratefully accepted. Even at the risk of Heath alleging that you have spiked the Bolognese with too much red wine.

We made it

We left home with Mandy's sore back.....Nan it had nothing to do with the Saturday night special. A stop at Brighton Le Sands for lunch at a very nice Thai Restaurant. We had chicken BBQ Entree and whole snapper with ginger and lemon grass. Great meal but rushed as we were getting close to departure time.

Lucky that we got a bus from the long term carpark straight away and off to Qantas terminal 2. Checked in at the Qantas Club - a quick 2 x Heineken's (mandy) and an orange juice for me. She's almost (note I say almost) uncontrollable with Heineken.

Made the flight, seats 43 K and J; Didn't know that there were that many seats on the plane.

We had a bumpy ride into Melbourne with storms about but landed on time. Picked up our limo (what an interesting guy) has driven cabs around Melbourne for 20 years so he took the scenic route into town.

We're staying at the Hyatt Park Melbourne and the room is enormous. Club room gives us access to the Lounge Club, see photo

Great news for the day, we arrived in sydney safe from road trip, great lunch but the big one.......we caught the flight.

Now onto day two...........
